Setting Your Goals
Okay, you have an idea that you want to make happen. The best way to do that is
too Make a Plan; Stay Focused and Stick to the Plan. If you are serious about your
business you must have a plan. By following the tips in this article you can make
your goals come true.
A) Make a Weekly Schedule
Make a plan and write it down. Monday you could spend the day learning html,
Tuesday you could focus on writing an article, etc. Whatever your goal for
the week is, it will be much easier to stay focused if you have a plan. A
weekly schedule that you can refer to when necessary. Keep it close by your computer.
B) Stay Focused
This is the hardest part of marketing for me. It's so easy to get distracted,
but just cause you get an email from a friend or whatever I'm sure it can wait.
Your main goal is to stay focused. Say you are researching a subject and find
an interesting site, just add it to your favorites folder and come back to it later.
If nothing else you could write the words "Focus" on a post it note and stick it
right smack-dab in front of you.
C) Keep It Real
Rome wasn't built in a day. For example, say you want to build a new web site.
Again with the planning; there is no need to hurry. Take your time and concentrate
on one thing at a time. Spend some quality time on the template you want to use,
next day concentrate on the content you want to include, etc.
D) Be Confident
You don't let your friends call you "Stupid" Do you? If you make a mistake while
you are working on a project, it's no big deal. Don't belittle yourself, get up
wipe your hands off and get back on the project. When you achieve your goal,
Congratulate yourself.

Things I Would Like to See More of in Ezines
Some ezines I enjoy more than others; some have great resources. But, the ones
I really enjoy are the ezines where the editor interacts with their subscribers.
Newsletters who lets their readers get involved with the newsletter and offers
them a chance to send in articles, trivia, comments and such.
Interaction —
Involve your subscribers more; ask for their articles, opinions, comments, and such!
Tell us where your from, the weather, your family, your life, etc. Let us get to know you!
Contests —
I subscribe to 100 or so newsletters and my favorite ones are the ones that run
contests. There are plenty of ways to do this. Trivia questions, unscramble words, visit
other ads. Just because it's a business newsletter doesn't mean it has to be boring.
Free Ads —
Yes, free ads! If you want more exposure (which we all do), this is a great way to do it.
If you type in the words "ezines who accept free ads," will yours be there?
Jokes or Funny Stories:
Again with the "Business doesn't have to be boring" — Lighten up a bit and make us
(the reader) smile.
Resources —
Share your expertise and resources. Tell us where some good deals are. Ask your
readers to send in their favorite resources.
These are some of the things I would like to see more of in newsletters.

Five Big Affiliate Mistakes
After being involved with affiliate programs for the last few years and not making a
dime online, I finally decided to take the gurus' advice and do what they said. Basically,
it all boils down to these five simple mistakes:
1 — Joining too many programs
This is a mistake that almost everybody starting out makes. You join one program, then
find another program that sounds too good to pass up. Just trust me and "pass it up"!
You need to choose and stick with one or two programs.
2 — Using the same ad
Reword your ad. How many times have you seen the same ad over and over? Go
back to your sales page and re-read it. Pick out the words that made you join, then put
them together in your ad.
3 — Selling to the wrong crowd
Target your product! Look in the search engines for ezines that are related to what you
are offering. Then sign up for their newsletters. You won't get many sales if you are
trying to sell jewelry in a gardening ezine.
4 — Choosing the wrong affiliate program
It's hard to sell cheap things online, let alone products that you are trying to sell for
hundreds of dollars. I've seen some affiliate programs that want $200 or more for their
product. If you believe in the program, then you should buy the product, use the product,
and then promote the product.
5 — Giving up too soon!
Yup! Any guru will tell you the same thing. Don't give up! Stick with it, and just keep
promoting, promoting, and promoting. If you are really serious about selling online, you
can—you just have to give it some time and hang in there.
